It is with great excitement that we share the news of Wazo Coop President, Marta Lozano Molano’s participation in the prestigious 11th European Music Forum – Sustain Music. This esteemed event took place from the 8th to the 10th of June, 2023, at the House of Music Hungary, Budapest. Organised by the European Music Council, the forum convened leaders and experts from across the music field in Europe, engaging in discussions about the sustainability of music.
On the 10th of June, Molano was part of the panel discussion titled «Sustaining Music in Local Communities«. She shared the stage with well-known experts in the field, including Shain Shapiro from the Center for Music Ecosystems, and Friderika Mike from Veszprém European Capital of Culture. The session was moderated by Audrey Guerre, President of the European Music Council.
The conversation focused on the sustainability of music in local communities, a subject of utmost importance to Wazo Coop, considering our commitment to fostering creativity and culture in rural areas. Molano took the opportunity to highlight Music4Coop’s ongoing project, which aims to strengthen the cooperative mindset in the music sector for local development. This participation is a significant recognition of the work Wazo Coop has been doing in this area.
We are immensely proud that Marta had this opportunity to share our vision and work with a broader audience. The experience and knowledge gained from this forum will be of great value to our continued efforts to enrich and sustain music in our local communities. We extend our gratitude to the European Music Council for the invitation and look forward to future collaborations.
This event demonstrates Music4Coop’s commitment to ensuring the sustainable growth of music, especially in local communities. As a cooperative, we understand that music is not only a form of expression, but it also has the power to drive local development and strengthen community bonds. We are dedicated to fostering this understanding and working towards creating a more sustainable future for music.
